Multilayered Zirconia
The material is milled from a single block that transitions from bottom to top:
¿What is a Multilayer Zirconia?
- The Base/Dentin Layer: High in strength 1000-1200 mpa to withstand heavy bite pressure. It is more opaque to block out any dark underlying tooth structure or metal posts.
- The Transition Layer: A middle band that bridges the gap in color and transparency, ensuring no visible lines or sudden changes in the material.
- The Enamel Layer: High in translucency and lower in strength, allowing light to pass through and reflect naturally just like a real tooth surface.
Key Benefits
- Lifelike Aesthetics: Its built-in color and light transmission gradients closely match natural tooth enamel, making it ideal for front teeth.
- Durability: Because it is a single monolithic piece, it eliminates the fragile porcelain layer used on older layered zirconia crowns, significantly reducing the risk of chipping or breaking.
- Efficiency: It streamlines the workflow for dentists and labs, requiring minimal manual staining or glazing to achieve a flawless final product.
