Sending Digital Impressions
San Diego Cosmetic Dental Lab is highly experienced in supporting clinicians who use digital impression systems. Our advanced computer-aided technology production process helps ensure restorations consistently demonstrate excellent fit and are crafted using cutting-edge materials. We currently accept digital impressions directly from nearly all major scanner systems for both traditional and implant restorations. If you are using another open system, you may export STL files directly to us at sandiegocosmeticdentallab@gmail.com. For scanner-specific instructions, please refer to the information below or contact your scanner manufacturer.
How to send a Digital case
- iTero: Select “Find a Laboratory” on your iTero Scanner and use our Company ID# 90266 or contact iTero directly to have San Diego Cosmetic Dental Lab added.
- Medit: Login with your administrator account. Go to Partners and search for San Diego Cosmetic Dental Lab and click Request Partnership button.
- Trios by 3Shape: go to us.3shapecommunicate.com; search San Diego Cosmetic Dental Lab (sdcdl861@gmail.com) to connect with our lab.
- CEREC & Dentsply Sirona Primescan: Dentsply recommends DS Core to send digital cases. Select “MY CONNECT” and type “San Diego Cosmetic Dental Lab” in the box for Company Name and click add to complete registration.
- 3M ESPE: Contact 3M ESPE directly to add San Diego Cosmetic Dental Lab to your list of connected labs.

San Diego Cosmetic Dental Lab’s all-digital workflow allows clinicians to experience a faster turnaround for restorations without the delays associated with shipping impressions. This streamlined process reduces the need for crown remakes and helps ensure accurate results. Clinicians using intraoral scanners can also avoid distortion issues commonly associated with traditional impression materials.

Additionally, for a safe and secure file transfer experience, we suggest using the website WeTransfer.com. You can follow these instructions for a seamless process:
- Go to WeTransfer.com.
- Choose the “Take Me to Free” option.
- Choose “I Agree” to the Terms and Condition
- Click “+ Add your files” and select the files from your computer that you want to transfer. (include the Rx)
- In the “Email to” field, enter: info@sandiegocosmeticdentallab.com
- Enter your email address in the “Your email” field.
- Enter an optional message.
- Click the “Transfer” button.
